Runtune Privacy Policy

Effective October 11, 2026

gentilX ("we") handles the personal information of people who use the running music app Runtune ("the app") in line with Korea's Personal Information Protection Act.

This policy explains what the app collects and why, how long it keeps it, and how it deletes it.

01What we collect and how

The app collects the following on its server.

ContactYour email address and what you wroteWhen you email us

We do not collect your location.

Kept only on your phone, never sent to the server

  • Step counts from your phone's step sensor
  • Heart rate measured by the Runtune watch app while you run (deleted once the per-song summary is made)
  • The diagnostics log (app activity, app version, device model, OS version). It leaves the phone only when you send it yourself from Settings, to wherever you choose, and it never contains health data or your email.
  • A saved copy of crew names, member counts and crew song like counts
  • Run and listening records not yet uploaded, and downloaded songs

Records kept only on your phone can still end up in your phone's backups.

02Health and workout data

  • The app reads health data only if you separately agree. Agreeing is optional.
  • What it reads: steps, walking and running distance, heart rate, and workouts (workout type and start and end time) for the time you ran, from Apple Health on iPhone or from Health Connect. If you use the Runtune watch app, it also receives the heart rate your watch measures while you run.
  • What it is for: to sum up that time and show it on the app screen after a run, and to match your heart rate to each song.
  • For heart rate, only the average and highest for each song are kept on the phone and the server, and the server copy is deleted automatically after 12 months. Values measured during a run are deleted from the phone once the per-song summary is made, and are never sent to the server. Steps, distance and workouts are only shown on screen and never stored. Health data never goes into crash reports or diagnostics logs.
  • It is never used for advertising or marketing, and never given or sold to other companies.
  • Runtune does not write any data to Apple Health or Health Connect.
  • Without agreeing you can still play music, record skips and likes, and see run summaries made from your phone's step sensor.
  • You can withdraw at any time in Settings > Health data. You can also turn off the app's permissions in Health Connect settings.

If you withdraw, the app stops reading health data and right away deletes the per-song heart rate kept on the phone and the server.

03Why we use it

  • Signing you in and keeping your account, so your records and crews carry over when you change phones
  • Checking that you are 18 or older and that you agreed to the Terms
  • Crew features (creating and joining crews, crew songs)
  • Handling reports, blocking, and restricting accounts that break the rules
  • Disconnecting your sign-in when you delete your account
  • Showing run summaries and matching your heart rate to each song (health data only if you agreed)
  • Answering your questions
  • From the next update, recommending songs

We do not use what we collect for advertising or sell it to other companies. Information received through Kakao, Google or Apple sign-in is also used only for the purposes above.

The songs in the app are made with AI (currently Google's Lyria model). We do not use your personal information to make songs, or send it to the music generation service.

04How long we keep it and how we delete it

InformationHow long
Account, nickname, consent records, run and listening records, crew, block and report records, invite code attempts, the encrypted Apple valueUntil you delete your account. Deleted right away when you do.

Contact emailsAs long as needed to answer you
The server company's security access logsKept for a short time, then deleted automatically.
  • Signing out deletes this phone's records; records already uploaded to the server remain.
  • Deleting your account deletes the account and every record tied to it from the server in one go, along with its sign-in logs. This cannot be undone.
  • If another law requires us to keep something, we may keep it separately for that period only.

05What others can see, and sharing with third parties

  • We do not give or sell your personal information to other companies or people. The only exception is when a law specifically requires it or an investigative authority requests it through the procedure the law sets.
  • Members of the same crew see only your nickname (including whether you are the owner) and how many people liked each song. Your runs, steps and health values are visible only to you.
  • For public crews, people outside the crew see only the name and the number of members.
  • When handling a report, we see the nickname and account ID.
  • If you send a crew invite through KakaoTalk, a message with the crew name and invite code goes to the chat you pick. It is a message you send yourself.

06Who processes it for us

ProcessorWhat they do
SupabaseRuns the server: sign-in, data storage and server functions. Data is stored in the Seoul region, South Korea.
Expo (650 Industries, Inc.)App update delivery: checks for a new update when you open the app. Processed in the United States (see Transfers outside Korea below).

With Kakao, Google or Apple sign-in, the company you pick confirms who you are and tells Runtune the result. If you delete an account that signed in with Kakao or Apple, we ask that company to disconnect it from Runtune.

If we start using a service that collects app errors, we will add it to this table before turning it on and ask for your separate agreement in the app.

07Transfers outside Korea

The server where Runtune stores your information is in Seoul, South Korea.

To deliver app updates, we send the following to Expo in the United States.

ItemDetails
Recipient650 Industries, Inc. (Expo). Contact: expo.dev/contact, 624 University Ave FL1, Palo Alto, CA 94301, USA
CountryUnited States
What is sentA random number that identifies the device (made for each install), device type (iPhone or Android), app version and the update currently in use, IP address, and the error text if the app failed while starting
When and howEach time you open the app, over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to Expo's update server.
Recipient's purposeTo check whether there is a new update and, if there is, deliver it to the app
How long it is keptAs set out in Expo's privacy policy (expo.dev/privacy). Expo says it keeps information only as long as reasonably necessary for its purposes and does not publish a fixed period.
How to refuse, and what happensIt is sent automatically when you open the app and cannot be turned off inside the app. If you do not want it, do not use the app, or delete it. Once the app is deleted nothing more is sent. In that case you cannot use Runtune.

If we start using any other service that needs to send personal information abroad (for example, an error collection service with servers overseas), before we start we will list in this policy who receives it, the country, what is sent, when and how, and how long it is kept, and ask for your agreement in the app.

08Your rights and how to use them

You can ask at any time to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop processing it.

Right in the app

  • Change your nickname: Settings > Nickname
  • Withdraw health data consent: Settings > Health data
  • Unblock: Settings > Blocked people and crews
  • Leave a crew: Leave crew on the crew screen
  • Delete your account: Settings > Delete account and data, then Delete all. If you are a crew owner, the longest-standing member takes over the crew; if no members are left, the crew is deleted too.

By email

  • If you cannot use the app, ask for account deletion at lsvuitton0428@gmail.com. Include how you signed in (Kakao, Google or Apple) and your nickname. We delete it and reply within 7 days of receiving your request.
  • Send other requests, such as to see, correct or stop processing your information, to the same address. We act on them without delay once we confirm it is you, and email you the result.

Runtune Account Deletion

09People under 18

  • Runtune is only for people aged 18 or older. Age is checked by asking you to confirm it yourself when you first sign in.
  • If you answer that you are under 18, you cannot use Runtune, and the app guides you to delete the account you just made.
  • Runtune is not meant for children under 14. If we learn that someone under 18 is using it, we may delete the account.

10How we protect it

  • Information exchanged with the server is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
  • Access rules on the server database mean you can read and write only your own records. Crew and report information is handled only through set server functions.
  • Only our operator account has admin rights.
  • The Apple value is stored encrypted and deleted together with your account.
  • Diagnostics logs and app logs never contain health data, email addresses, nicknames, crew names or invite codes.
  • Limits on attempts stop people from guessing invite codes or flooding reports.
  • Raw health app records are never sent to the server.

  • Changed on October 11, 2026: we updated Health and workout data and the retention periods so that the app receives heart rate measured by the Runtune watch app and keeps the average and highest heart rate for each song on the phone and the server (12 months on the server). The previous version was effective from October 6, 2026.
